Dear DeleGate users, I inform you of the new release of DeleGate available as follows: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DeleGate/9.9.0 (STABLE) -- new stable version This is a new stable version of DeleGate since the previous one (9.7.7) released a year ago. The new release includes many fixes for problems in older versions and is a candidate of the last release of DeleGate/9.X series. You are recommended to upgrade to this version if you are using DeleGate under situations as listed bellow: - using DeleGate as a reverse proxy <URL:http://www.delegate.org/delegate/nvproxy/> - using DeleGate as a SSL wrapper or a SSL gateway - using DeleGate as a MITM proxy <URL:http://www.delegate.org/delegate/Manual.htm#CAPSKEY> The main theme of DeleGate/9.8 was reconstructing it based on multi-threads in a single persistent process. - ported onto Windows Mobile/CE <URL:http://wince.delegate.org/> DeleGate has come to run as multi-threads in a single persistent process (on Windows Mobile/CE by default) rather than multiple dynamic processes to relay parallel requests. Automatic Dial-up and power management are introduced to support mobile devices. - reduced memory leaks and improved multi-thread safety in the way of the porting to Windows Mobile/CE, memory leaks are fixed and DeleGate became multi-thread safe. Not only WinCE but also all platforms are benefitted from this to improve performance. It includes several new features as follows: - introduced hosting for mobile servers via HTTP based tunneling A server with dynamic IP-address (on mobile device typically) and possibly globally IP-unreachable (behind NAT or PROXY for example) can serve globally at a static port via "HTMUX", without dynamic DNS. <URL:http://www.delegate.org/delegate/Manual.htm#HTMUX> - a tentative mechanism for clustering alternative/complemental servers <URL:http://www.delegate.org/delegate/Manual.htm?CLUSTER> - supported SSL "Server Name Indication" (TLS extension) <URL:http://www.delegate.org/delegate/Manual.htm?CERTDIR> These new features are incomplete yet and will be completed in DeleGate/10.X. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- SITE: <URL:ftp://ftp.delegate.org/pub/DeleGate/> FILE: delegate9.9.0.tar.{gz,bz2} DATE: Nov 24 07:24 JST 2008 SRCSIGN=9.9.0:20081124072443+0900:dbc10d11daf4a9f5 TAR-SIZE: 7178240 bytes TAR-MD5: d3777226dbdfac96d208a114ee7532b4 PUBLIC-KEY: http://www.delegate.org/rsa-pubkey.pem TAR-MD5-SIGN: faLmmF2HzFKWeeXvjC/YAdBQ7JGjmO8/yx1l5GTue3QdPc8x6tI3N+eFa/m9LVj/fblfczRV LYGiXFyQO/xO8QVpYnR/0S5+Ab+p3OVKVW0mrPS3cvQ1EUfDwaQZ2QsulwR979GQJWTw/3pq MbP21KVmGPvvzJaS4ALTM0MDR/Y= Cheers, Yutaka -- 9 9 Yutaka Sato <y.sato@delegate.org> http://delegate.org/y.sato/ ( ~ ) National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology _< >_ 1-1-4 Umezono, Tsukuba, Ibaraki, 305-8568 Japan Do the more with the less -- B.
