Hi, The function seems to do nothing bad/good in the case, except consuming large (about 128KBytes) stack space to be extended on demand. Thus I suppose the problem might be caused by a stack space

Hi Craig, I found that "endless SIGSEGV messages" can occur on Linux too, caused by duplicated fclose(), fclose(fp) for fp which had been already closed by fclose(fp). This "duplicated fclose()" was
