I have tried to setup a ICQ UDP relay together with my WEB-proxy,
NNTP-server etc, but with low successrate.

Unfortunely I have no experience in ICQ and have no software to run it
either. What I am trying to achieve is a service for our network clients
who has a strong wish for ICQ.

I have read almost all entries in this conference and also the reference
manual provided here.

I start up delege in /etc/rc.d/init.d/delegate by using the following
commands

	/var/spool/delegate/delegated \
	-P4000 SERVER="udprelay://icq.mirabilis.com"

This will create a logfile called 4000 which looks like the following :

I have experienced from my users that there are several configuration
options in ICQ
The following has been identified by me

- SOCKS4 Host
- SOCKS4 Port
- UDP Port allocation 
    Open an outgoing UDP port 4000 on my firewall
    Use a mapped port on a Proxy
      Proxy Server Host
      Proxy server port

- I do not using SOCKS proxy ...
- I am using SOCK5 proxy ...
- I am using SOCK4 proxy ...

- I am behind a firewall or proxy
- I am not behind a firewall or proxy

Can someone which already have been doing this help me with a
description of 

1) What should be the configuration of ICQ
2) A more detailed explenation of how delegate handle the requests and
forward/relaying them to the ICQ-server, from the ICQ programs point of
view
3) COmments on the startup of delegate etc.

For example 
Which will be the port delegate use for listening for ICQ requests from
the client ?
Can the listening port be changed via startup commands ?
Can multiple ICQ servers be used/reffered to from the same delegate
deamon ?
I am not very familiar with SOCKS. Can some one describe what SOCKS is
and its relation or use here ?
