To summarize the log file:
    150ms: initialize connection
    100ms: CFI_SYNC
    260ms: init SSLWAY
    250ms: actual relay
    110ms: shutdown connection
Total: 870ms
  
I can send you the 17Kb log file if you want to see the details.

I also ran Process Monitor (*1) and found that accessing the Windows 
registry is taking about 590ms.

Any ideas?
