Here is the perl script I use:

#!/usr/bin/perl

open  TORD, ">", "temp.txt";
open LOG, ">worklog.txt";
print LOG "reading STDIN\n";
readline ;
print LOG "writing temp\n";
while ()

{
    s/[\x7f-\xff]/??/g;

    print TORD $_;

}

close TORD;
print LOG "running spamc\n";
$ech = `/usr/bin/spamc < temp.txt`;
#print $meh;
#print $ech;
print LOG "final output\n";
print "+OK ".length($ech)." octets\015\012";
print $ech;
print ".\015\012";
print LOG "finished\n";
close LOG;
exit 0;

Any help would be appreciated.
